The city of Hannover itself is not only renowned for its academic institutions and international trade fairs, but as the greenest city in Germany it is also extremely diverse and offers a wealth of leisure and culture offers. The city’s most popular sights include the “Rote Faden” (Red Thread), a 4200-metre long pavement level guideline for exploring the city, and the Herrenhausen Gardens, an impressive ensemble around the centrepiece of one of Europe’s best-preserved baroque gardens.
